Community Services

Community Services

At Islamic Unity in Brisbane, faith is lived through service — supporting life’s milestones, assisting in times of need, and building a compassionate, connected community.

Nikah (Marriage) Services

We provide a guided Islamic marriage service, conducted by our Imam in a respectful and meaningful setting. Couples receive spiritual support and practical guidance to build a strong foundation rooted in faith and community.

“The most beloved of people to Allah are those who bring the most benefit to others.” — Hadith

Funeral (Janazah) Assistance

In moments of loss, Islamic Unity offers compassionate support for janāzah prayers, burial arrangements and grieving families. We aim to bring dignity, care and faith into every step of this sacred process.

“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will relieve him of a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter…” — (Hadith Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

Family & Personal Counselling

Every individual and family may face growth, transition or challenge — spiritual, emotional, relational or personal. At Islamic Unity our counseling services combine Islamic values with empathy and confidentiality to support healing, unity and growth.

“The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy, are just like one body; when one part feels pain, the whole body responds with wakefulness and fever.” — (Hadith Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

Zakat & Sadaqah Distribution

Your generosity makes a profound difference. We collect and distribute zakāh and ṣadaqah locally and globally, ensuring transparency, dignity and meaningful impact.

“Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and openly — they will have their reward with their Lord; and no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.” — (Qur’an 2:274)

Tahnik (Newborn Welcome)

Welcoming a newborn is a joyful milestone. We offer the Tahnik service — in which a date or sweet is gently placed on the baby’s palate by a righteous person, invoking blessings for the child’s life.

The Prophet ﷺ performed Tahnik: “A newborn was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He chewed a date and placed its juice into the baby’s mouth…” — (Sahih Muslim)
